The Women’s Resource Center is committed to equality, justice, and the well-being of women. To that end, they will engage and encourage our community to work with them toward those goals. The Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Services Program for Otsego County residents provides victims of these crimes with crisis and ongoing services designed to assist them in surviving their initial trauma and throughout the healing process. Rarely will you find an issue that impacts so many; one in three women experiences domestic or dating abuse in their lifetimes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. People of all races, religions, and all income and education levels experience domestic abuse; it can happen to anyone. It is likely you may know someone who has or is experiencing domestic abuse, even if they have not shared their story.
