The phrase “Together we can do more for the community we love,” seems to summarize all the efforts of the Community Foundation. Whether building community endowment, awarding grants, or convening leaders, collaboration is the way to go. Last June, the OCCF hosted a round table discussion with local community and economic development organizations. Representatives from the City of Gaylord, Gaylord Tourism Bureau, Downtown Development Authority, Downtown Merchants Association, Gaylord Area Chamber of Commerce, Otsego County, and Otsego County Economic Alliance were able to simply reconnect with each other, learn more about what was happening at each organization and explore opportunities to work together future.
The group has agreed to explore common messaging efforts to bring greater support to community and economic development opportunities in our area.
This spring Gaylord will start phase two of the Orange Barrel Improvement Project. This is an exciting time for Otsego County to celebrate the growth of this dynamic area.
