Extreevaganza: An Enchanted Evening

Benefiting the Otsego County Community Fund

Improving the lives of our neighbors, enhancing our community, and building compassionate leaders – that is what the Extreevaganza event has been doing since 1999 through the Otsego County Community Foundation.

The yearly event is not only a fundraiser, but also a chance for people to join together in the spirit of community and enjoy an evening of festivities. “Extreevaganza is the kick off to the season of giving. Giving back to the community in which you live is vital to its sustainability. All of the money raised the night of Extreevaganza stays right here in the Community Fund, which grants our money to Otsego County’s needs. I’m involved in Extreevaganza because the Community Fund is a permanent, sustainable fund. As the needs of our community continue to grow, the Community Fund needs the same growth in order to fund the needs in Otsego County. For me personally, this is one way I can give to many through one donation.” noted Extreevaganza Ambassador, Eryn Maertens.

Extreevaganza relies heavily on the generosity of our local business community, and one of the businesses that has been there for the event though the years is Treetops Resort. Not only has Treetops been the location of the event, it has also been a great supporter over the years. We are proud that they are the co-host of this year’s Extreevaganza: An Enchanted Evening. Treetops Resort, along with staff and Event Ambassadors, have been hard at work for months to make this an event you won’t forget.

“After last year’s event, we heard from attendees that they want Christmas trees back. We have listened and are excited to announce that uniquely decorated large trees, small trees, and wreaths will be available in the silent auction.” said Karin Beyer, the OCCF Community Liaison. During the night, attendees will also be able to participate in multiple fun activities, including a Wine Toss, Putt for the Jewels, Christmas Golden Tickets, Christmas Ornament Tree, and much more while mingling with friends.

Efforts such as Extreevaganza aid in the continued growth of the Community Fund, which in turn offers nonprofits an increase in grant funding to support their missions. Each spring, area nonprofits can submit a grant application for funding consideration from the Community Fund. “The OCCF is an organization that brings an awareness of the needs of our community. I support the good work our community foundation does for Otsego County by lending my time, energy and financial support. I love Extreevaganza because it’s a fun and easy venue for our entire community to show support of the OCCF. ” stated Heidi Yocum, Extreevaganza Ambassador. Sara Shurlow noted, “I am an ambassador because I support the mission of the OCCF and believe that support of the Community Fund builds a stronger community.”

This is going to be a fun and festive night of philanthropy filled with holiday cheer. If you would like to attend the event on December 7th or become a corporate sponsor, please use the links below:
