Michigan Truth Tour to visit Otsego County September 12th

On behalf of Otsego County Community Foundation and the City of Gaylord, we invite you to participate in an upcoming community conversation on September 12, at 7 pm at the Gaylord City Hall. In partnership with Bridge Magazine, the nonpartisan and nonprofit winner of “Michigan’s Best Newspaper” in 2016 and 2017, we have volunteered to bring together residents of our county for an hour-long discussion entitled A Great Place to Live. This meeting will provide participants with an opportunity to discuss their perspective on quality of life in Michigan. How would you rate your quality of life right now? What changes could make it better? What should be the priorities to improve quality of life for Michiganders of representatives elected in 2018?

This event is a part of Bridge Magazine’s Michigan Truth Tour, a statewide roadshow attempting to ground the upcoming state election in fact and discussion of the state’s most important issues. Throughout 2018, their Michigan Truth Squad is visiting more than 100 communities across the state to ensure all residents have equal access to reliable information they can use to prepare to vote. To learn more about the publication, visit www.bridgemi.com.

While Bridge is in town, you can also visit their mobile news room! Located at Pavilion on Court from 11 am – 1 pm, or come early to Business After Hours at Fairfield Inn and Suites from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm. Stop by to get a free voting issues guide and a toolkit on finding and fighting fake news, play some citizenship games, and walk away with some free swag!

Bridge Magazine is published by the Center for Michigan, a nonpartisan “think-and-do” tank striving to be the state’s “citizenship company.” The Center has spent the last decade traveling around Michigan, listening to what more than 45,000 residents have to say about state policy. Every year, consensus opinions are amplified to state leaders to achieve policy change. You can learn more about the Center for Michigan at www.thecenterformichigan.net.

We hope that you can participate in this Truth Tour event! Please RSVP online http://bit.ly/TruthTourGaylord, or by contacting the Otsego County Community Foundation at 731-0597 no later than September 7.
