On May 20th, the Community Funding Partners hosted an event under the Pavilion On Court to celebrate this year’s Community Grant Program. What an uplifting hour to bring both the funders and the grantees together to listen, learn and share with each other the impact that the projects/programs will have on the community.

“So often, grantmaking consists of an application, a check and a final report – all paper transactions. The Giving Together Celebration is an opportunity for donors, volunteers and nonprofits to connect in person. These connections are critical building blocks for the future of our community,” noted Dana Bensinger, OCF Executive Director.

“Talking with grant recipients leads to bigger and better things, like actually helping out with the project, like the Huron Pines Planting the Trees of Tomorrow With Vanderbilt Area School Students project,” stated Mike Cwik, Kiwanis Club of Gaylord Treasurer.

We are thrilled that together we granted over $106,994 to meet the needs and advance opportunities in the community during the past year. We are happy to share with you the summaries of these projects. Want to learn more? Please read the Giving Together Publication.

The Community Grant Program is a collaborative effort made possible by local funding partners, including the Kiwanis Club of Gaylord, Otsego Community Foundation, Otsego Wildlife Legacy Society, Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital, Otsego County United Way, The Drzewiecki Agency and Rotary Club of Gaylord. This unique program administered by the Otsego Community Foundation allows nonprofits to complete one grant application which then is reviewed and considered by all funding partners.
