OCF’s Karin Beyer Receives Chamber Award

Feb 5, 2020 | All News

On January 23 at the annual Gaylord Area Chamber of Commerce (GACC) Awards Celebration, OCF’s Karin Beyer was recognized with the Patti Dobrzelewski Volunteer of the Year Award. The award recognizes a community leader who donates his or her time to Chamber activities and events.

“Over the last few years Karin has been a mentor for Leadership Otsego County, volunteered at the annual golf outing, and helped with several other Chamber events,” noted Stephanie Corby, GACC Assistant Executive Director.  “Her vibrant personality and ambitious attitude are contagious and I am sure she has made a lasting impression on every individual she has come in contact with.Karin’s spirit is something to be admired. If each of our residents gave half of what Karin does back to this community, we would be forever successful and united!”

Karin joined the OCF team in the spring of 2017 as the Community Liaison.

“Karin is a natural for the Community Liaison position at the OCF, connecting with many community groups, particularly local nonprofits. She was an avid volunteer prior to this role, however her position at the OCF has increased her knowledge of opportunities to volunteer. That combined with her love for the community makes her a great choice for the award,” said Dana Bensinger, OCF Executive Director.

In addition to volunteering for the GACC, Karin is active in Zonta, the Rotary Club of Gaylord and the Downtown Merchants Association. Congratulations, Karin!
