Thoughtful Stewardship, Lasting Impact

Oct 5, 2026 | All News

At the Otsego Community Foundation, grants are more than dollars distributed. They are investments in people, organizations, and ideas that strengthen our community for generations to come. Behind every grant recommendation is a group of dedicated volunteers who generously give their time, insight, and expertise to help ensure charitable dollars make the greatest possible impact.

Our Grant Review Committee plays a vital role in transforming philanthropy into meaningful community action. Throughout the year, committee members carefully review grant applications, evaluate community needs, engage in thoughtful discussion, and make funding recommendations that align with the Foundation's mission, strategic plan, and guiding principles.

This responsibility is not taken lightly.

Each application represents an opportunity to improve lives, address challenges, or expand possibilities within our community. Committee members approach their work with diligence, fairness, and a deep commitment to Otsego County. They understand that every funding decision carries the potential to create lasting change, and their thoughtful stewardship helps ensure charitable resources are invested wisely and effectively.

Meeting four times each year, the committee brings together individuals with diverse perspectives and experiences who share a common goal: strengthening the place we all call home. Their discussions are thoughtful, their evaluations are thorough, and their commitment to our community is evident in every recommendation they make.

We are incredibly grateful for these volunteers and the care they bring to this important work. Their dedication reflects the very best of community service and philanthropy. Otsego County is fortunate to have individuals willing to devote their time and talents to ensuring charitable resources create meaningful and lasting impact.

To our Grant Review Committee members, Jessi Jo Boulter, Jan Kellogg, Barb Brown, Joe Marsiglia, Leslie Vendzuh, Dave Baragrey, and Gary Rider, thank you for your thoughtful leadership, commitment, and service to our community.
