The Gaylord Community Field, spearheaded by the Quarterback Club and several partners, including 158 donors, came together recently to turn a long-time dream into a reality. The Gaylord Community Field Fund was established on December 6, 2017 with the purpose to build and maintain a turf field that would be utilized by students, athletes and the community as a whole.

The construction of the turf field brought a state-of-the-art, high-quality and safe playing surface to the community. In addition to extending and increasing the quality of play, the field also has the potential to positively impact local economy by hosting events and bringing in people from other regions. This project also helped build relationships with groups and individuals who support our community and school.

“When embarking on a project of this size, you need a small group to drive the initiative and a large group to support it. When it all came together at the opening night, it was remarkable how many people identified with the final project. Whether they gave a dollar or $100,000, they felt part of something big that changed the physical and emotional landscape of our community, the pride was much broader than just the small group that started the dream,” noted Brian Pearson, Gaylord Community Schools Superintendent.

In 2018, the Gaylord Community Field Fund of the Otsego Community Foundation awarded $465,000 in grants to Gaylord Community Schools to construct the field. If you are interested in helping to grow the Gaylord Community Field Fund, please click here.
