Community Foundation’s 1st Grant

Apr 1, 2024 | Through the Archives

In 1998, the Otsego County Community Foundation awarded its first grant-- $600 to The Energy Outlet of the Otsego County Sportsplex. This grant was awarded from the Youth Fund of the OCF, which is overseen by the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC). The YAC selected The Energy Outlet to receive this grant.

The OCF and its grantmaking capabilities have come a long way since that first grant! The OCF has awarded over $4.5 million in grants and scholarships to date. We have partnered with other local grantmakers as part of the Community Grant Program as well, which amplifies each organization’s impact on our community.

The mission of YAC is to provide youth with a voice to empower the community through positive impact and growth, one grant a time. The Youth Fund of the OCF has grown to nearly $100,000.
