Volunteer Spotlight – Cal McNamara

Sep 2, 2025 | All News

This month, we shine our Volunteer Spotlight on Cal McNamara, a dedicated community member and a valued part of OCF’s Finance Committee. Born and raised in Gaylord, Cal spent eight years in the Kalamazoo area after college before returning home a decade ago. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, attending his kids’ athletic events, and watching movies—though he admits he enjoys all genres too much to pick a favorite.

As a member of the Finance Committee, Cal helps guide the financial direction of the foundation. The committee reviews income and expenditures against the operating budget, receives audit reports, and develops the operating plan with projected expenses and revenues aligned with the strategic plan.

To learn more about Cal, here he is in his own words:

What do you love about Otsego County?

The sense of community that we have.  People helping people.

What are your hopes for Otsego County?

To continue to grow and develop, and to keep this community somewhere to be proud to live.

What are you looking forward to working with the OCF?

Just helping in any capacity that I can.
