What an Enchanted Evening: Extreevaganza 2018

Jan 8, 2019 | All News

With a room full of flickering Christmas lights, evergreens and holiday cheer, Extreevaganza: an Enchanted Evening raised $38,000 for the Community Fund of The Otsego Community Foundation. Treetops Resort Convention Center was magically transformed into a Christmas tree lot, full of decorated trees and wreaths, and featuring a variety of activities, including Putt for the Jewels, sponsored by Hogan’s Jewelers, Wine Toss, sponsored by realtor Jamie Kurth, and an ornament tree with gift cards from area restaurants as prizes. It truly was an evening of community philanthropy - the Community Fund is an endowment which supports the ever-changing needs and opportunities of our community.

"Extreevaganza was lovely. I loved the touch of the students running a coat check. The room was decorated beautifully and the ambiance was perfect. The tree farm area was so cheerful and festive, and I enjoyed seeing all of the unique and creative contributions. I appreciated that, while I knew the event was to raise funds, I didn't feel pressured at every turn to make donations. I felt that the event was as much about my enjoyment as it was to raise money," stated first time attendee, Paig Switalski.

"Extreevaganza 2018 was truly an enchanted evening. From the sparkling lights, to the dazzling gowns and festive attire, it was an opportunity to mingle with friends and neighbors while supporting a worthy cause. It really brought out the Christmas spirit of giving! I'm looking forward to next year's event!" noted Cherie Nutter.

The Otsego Community Foundation is grateful for the participation of the event co-host, Treetops Resort, the Treetops staff, and the Extreevaganza Ambassadors for their time and talents in making Extreevaganza: an Enchanted Evening a night to remember. Thank you to all attendees, sponsors, individuals and businesses who donated trees and prizes, making it a night of philanthropy that will impact the community today and tomorrow.

Looking forward to next year? Please save the date, Friday, December 6th for Extreevaganza 2019!
