At the Otsego Community Foundation (OCF), volunteers are the heartbeat of everything we do. Their time, energy, and passion fuel our mission and make events like Extreevaganza not only possible—but extraordinary. This month, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on one of our incredible volunteers: AmySue Jenkins, co-chair of the 2025 Extreevaganza.
AmySue was born and raised in Gaylord and has deep roots in the Otsego County community. After earning her Bachelor of Applied Arts in Interior Design from Central Michigan University, she built a career as a Kitchen and Bath designer, also working with flooring and high-end furniture. Her love for creating beautiful, functional spaces is matched only by her love for people.
AmySue is married to her best friend, Dan, and together they have two children, Madison and Wesley. The family shares a passion for adventure, often heading west to explore Colorado and Utah in their Jeep—where AmySue dreams of living someday. When she’s not designing or off-roading, you’ll find her antiquing or shopping, always on the hunt for something unique.
Though she spent a short time in Grand Rapids, AmySue’s heart has always belonged to Otsego County. “I love living here,” she says. “You can never go to the grocery store and not see someone you know.” That sense of connection is what drew her to OCF and inspired her to get involved.
Her first experience volunteering with Extreevaganza was nothing short of magical. “I LOVED volunteering for the event,” AmySue shares. “It’s a lot of work, but it’s worth every minute. It brings me so much joy to see the community come together to raise money for our community!”
As co-chair of this year’s Extreevaganza, AmySue has poured her creativity and dedication into making the event unforgettable. Her leadership and enthusiasm are contagious, and her commitment to OCF’s mission is inspiring.
Volunteers like AmySue are the reason OCF can continue to grow, innovate, and serve. Their generosity strengthens our foundation and uplifts our entire community. We are deeply grateful for AmySue and all the volunteers who make our work possible.
Thank you, AmySue, for your heart, your vision, and your unwavering support. We look forward to many more years of collaboration and community impact!
